Douwstra Auditorium Renovation – Central College

The Douwstra Auditorium has been the heart of Central College’s campus since 1939 and a gathering place for music, the arts, conferences and guest speakers. The Douwstra Auditorium was last renovated in 1984. Central College partnered with Graham Construction to get the best value for this project. The end goal is to maintain the historic building while updating the space to meet the needs of a modern-day venue.

The project is approximately 8,500 square feet. The auditorium gained an upgraded stage with new stage finishes, window shades, new flooring and paint along with a new set of exterior exit stairs. As part of the process, the above ceiling ductwork will also be modified. Central College now a beautiful, functional gathering and performance space.
