Hospice of Central Iowa’s mission is to provide quality end of life care to Central Iowa. With that mission in hand, they embarked on the construction of the Bright – Kavanagh House on Des Moines’ east side. Graham Construction was hired as the Construction Manager in October of 2006, but long before that, Graham was hard at work volunteering their services for fundraising and cost consulting. The new facility provides room for 24 patients and is situated on a beautiful 9.5 acres wooded site that will provide a tranquil respite for the patients and families. The 31,800 square foot facility will feature quite reflective spaces such as the central lobby with a twenty foot clerestory area, two family waiting rooms, stained glass corridor windows and an exterior “Circle of Life” gazebo.
