The Iowa Donor Network selected Graham Construction along with their design partner Shive Hattery to design and build their new 17,800 SF Office and Tissue Recovery Center in Altoona, IA. The healthcare expertise of this team was well suited to the Iowa Donor Network’s wish to construct a Tissue Recovery Center that would enable them to achieve the best possible tissue recovery success. This facility would help save and enhance the lives of others while treating the donor and family with respect.
The 6,200 SF medical core of the building houses two tissue recovery suites, an embalming suite and a central sterile area. The remainder of the building includes a 24/7 call center for tissue donation as well as offices and support space. The unique exterior façade of the building will be achieved by using a rain screen of Nichiha compressed fiber cement panels and Kalwall translucent windows to provide natural light in the building.
