Covenant Medical Center Emergency Department

Covenant Medical Center’s new Level II, state-of-the-art emergency room opened in September 2013 and is busy serving the community. The 23,000 square foot addition is located along West Ninth Street, making it much more visible and accessible than the original ER, which was located on the backside of the hospital. The project also renovated 15,000 square feet of the adjacent hospital significantly increasing the size of the new Emergency Department. The new, artfully designed and ultra-efficient ER houses 24 patient rooms, 10 more than the old facility, and offers specially equipped rooms for trauma and behavioral health patient treatment as well as a new CT room and a new X-ray room. Adjacent to the new ER, a new six-bay ambulance garage with a heliport above ensures swift access to the new facility.

Secure mode and access control features create additional safety and a ‘fast track’ results waiting area increased efficiency in care delivery. Overall, navigating the Emergency Department and Covenant Medical Center is improved for everyone requiring care in these environments.
